New Banksy Artwork depicts Judge Striking Protester on London Court Wall

London – A new artwork attributed to the elusive street artist Banksy has appeared on the wall of a London court, depicting a judge striking a protester with a gavel. The black-and-white mural, which surfaced this week, offers a pointed commentary on the justice system and the right to protest.

Banksy, who began his career spray-painting buildings in Bristol, has become internationally renowned for his politically charged art. His works frequently critique government policy, particularly regarding migration and war. previous pieces include an inflatable raft at Glastonbury Festival symbolizing migrant crossings of the English Channel, and The Migrant Child in Venice, depicting a child with a life jacket and smoke bomb. He also created artworks in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and in 2023,captured London’s attention with an animal-themed collection.

The latest artwork’s location-a London court-is particularly meaningful, suggesting a direct challenge to the impartiality and fairness of legal proceedings. Banksy’s pieces often sell for millions of dollars at auction, but also attract vandalism, highlighting the tension between artistic value and public access.
