Bandit Running Opens First chicago Store in Bucktown – With Cafe From Soloway Coffee

A Brooklyn-based running apparel brand, Bandit running, has launched its first Chicago location in the heart of Bucktown.The new store, located at 1708 N.Damen Ave., not only offers a range of running gear but also features a full cafe experience thanks to a partnership with Ukrainian coffee company, Soloway.

From Fjällräven to Bandit: A New Community Hub

Bandit Running has taken over the storefront previously occupied by Fjällräven, which closed in March 2025. The company has invested in notable renovations to transform the space into a welcoming community hub for runners and shoppers.The design includes “winding, painted cement stadium seating designed for pre- and post-run gathering,” according to the company’s website.

What to Expect at the Bandit Running Store

The store will carry Bandit’s full range of apparel, including running pants, shorts, gloves, socks, and outerwear. Beyond retail, Bandit plans to foster a strong community through regular events and run clubs, with exclusive perks for membership program participants.

to celebrate the grand opening, Bandit is hosting a celebratory run on the 606’s Bloomingdale trail on Saturday. Exclusive Bucktown-branded merchandise – shirts, hats, socks, and hoodies – will be available only at this location.

Soloway Coffee: A Ukrainian Partnership

A key feature of the new Bandit Running store is the integrated cafe, operated in partnership with Soloway Coffee, a Ukrainian-based brand. This marks Soloway’s second Chicago location, following their initial cafe launch in Lincoln Park in 2024.

The cafe will offer espresso drinks and pastries, providing a convenient spot for runners and neighbors to refuel. Initial cafe hours will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bucktown Becoming a Running Destination

Bandit Running joins Salomon, which opened a store a block south in August, in establishing Bucktown as a growing destination for running enthusiasts.

bandit’s Bucktown location will operate with the following hours:

  • Mondays-Saturdays: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Sundays: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
