Australian Man’s Body Returned From Bali Missing heart,Sparking Investigation
The family of Byron Haddow,a 23-year-old Australian man,is seeking answers after his body was repatriated from Bali in August with his heart missing. Haddow was found dead in the swimming pool of a villa on Bali in late May, tho his death wasn’t reported to police for several days, according to Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) News.
Balinese authorities performed an autopsy following notification of Haddow’s death, revealing the presence of alcohol in his system but no definitive cause of death.
The missing heart was discovered by a coroner in australia a month after Haddow’s body was returned. “I still don’t know how to give it a place,” Haddow’s mother told ABC News, describing her shock at the discovery.
The family, fearing potential foul play and organ theft, has retained legal counsel and is requesting facts from Indonesian authorities,as reported by multiple foreign media outlets including the Guardian.
The director of the Balinese hospital where the autopsy was conducted has denied allegations of organ theft, stating the heart was retained by the pathologist for further examination.
The Australian department of Foreign Affairs has inquired with Indonesia regarding the situation but declined to comment further, citing privacy concerns.
