Bad Gyal Reflects on Decade of Change,Craves “Luxury” of Privacy
Barcelona,Spain – Catalan singer and songwriter Bad Gyal (Alba Farelo and Solé) opened up about the dramatic shifts in her life over the past ten years,admitting she sometimes wishes for anonymity. Appearing on Late Xou with Marc Giró, the 28-year-old artist-who began her career at age 19-described a period of intense personal evolution spurred by industry experience.
“You learn, unlearn, and gain perspective,” Bad Gyal told giró, summarizing the decade’s impact. While her core self remains, she explained, “things that I loved I hate, things that I hated I love… everything changes.”
The artist acknowledged the cost of fame,stating,”Privacy is a luxury.” She expressed a desire to “be invisible” at times, empathizing with the experiences of more globally recognized figures like Javier Bardem and Ester Expósito, noting she felt comparatively less known.
Despite the challenges,bad Gyal highlighted the positive transformations. “I have been able to go to all the places I wanted, learn about cultures, try foods, see my idols…” she shared, recalling a recent connection with members of the band Plan B, whom she now considers friends.
She also noted a linguistic shift, playfully observing, “I think I’m half Latin American, words stick to me.” Despite her success, Bad Gyal maintains a grounded perspective, stating, “I still feel like I’m nobody,” while acknowledging the unexpected and ”strong things” that have unfolded in her life.
