Bad Company’s Paul Rodgers Cancels Rock Hall Induction Due to Health

Bad Company‘s Paul Rodgers Will Miss Rock Hall ⁤Induction ⁣Due too Health Concerns

Bad ⁣Company singer Paul Rodgers will be unable ⁤to attend the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 2025 induction ceremony,the musician announced ‌Friday on social media. Rodgers stated that longtime bandmate simon⁢ Kirke, ‌”along with some outstanding musicians,” will perform in his ‍place, and assured fans ⁢they are “guaranteed‍ to rock.” He⁣ and Kirke had previously announced plans to ⁤reunite on stage as the only two surviving original members of⁢ the band.

The news comes after Rodgers revealed in 2023 that‍ he suffered 13 strokes over several years, with two being ⁤major strokes that temporarily left him ​unable to speak. Bad Company is being inducted into the Rock Hall as part of the class of 2024, but the ceremony ⁢was delayed‍ until 2025.

“I couldn’t do ⁤anything to be honest,” Rodgers told CBS News at the time. “I couldn’t speak. That was‌ the very strange thing. ​You ⁤know, ‌I’d prepare somthing‍ in my mind and I’d say it, but that⁢ isn’t what came out, and I’d go, ‘what the heck did I just say?'” He described his recovery as a series of achievements, adding,⁤ “Each thing that I did was an achievement … ‘Oh, I‌ can do this. I can sing.'”

fans responded to Rodgers’ proclamation with messages of support. “Prayers for you Paul.One of my favorite bands & front⁣ men of all time,” one person wrote. Another said, “Ah man⁢ I was looking forward to him performing. Hope he’s ok, that’s⁢ all that matters.”
