Breaking: Multiple guests at a hotel are reportedly ill, with ambulances seen arriving throughout Saturday afternoon. Some holidaymakers have received hydration drips in their rooms, while others were treated on stretchers in hotel corridors, according to reports.
One guest reported that a friend became unwell Saturday night and has been confined to her room since.
“She started to feel unwell after lunch and at dinnertime because she had a stomach ache; she only ate a yoghurt,” the guest stated.
“We think it’s something to do with the fish as there were four of us at lunch, but she was the only one that ate it. The rest of us ate meat and we’re fine.”
The reported symptoms align with those of Salmonella poisoning, wich typically manifest as sudden diarrhoea, fever, and abdominal cramps between six hours and six days after infection. Symptoms usually last four to seven days.
More severe symptoms, including bloody diarrhoea or high fever, may necessitate medical attention. While rare, complications can arise if the infection spreads to the bloodstream, potentially causing severe illness or long-term conditions like reactive arthritis.
As of this report, the hotel has not issued an official statement on its instagram, Facebook, or website.
