New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Mann Ki Baat address on Sunday, remembered Alin Sherin, the young girl whose organ donation gave a new lease on life to four individuals. The Prime Minister described Alin as an “angel” and lauded the decision of her parents to donate her organs following her death from food poisoning.

“It was a child who should have lived a long life, with many dreams left to fulfill,” Modi said, according to reports from Express Kerala and Big News Live. He acknowledged the profound pain experienced by Alin’s parents in losing their child, emphasizing the “extremely noble” nature of their decision to donate her organs despite their grief.

Modi highlighted the parents’ decision as a “symbol of great thought and strong personality.” He stated that even in the face of immense personal loss, they chose to help others, a sentiment echoed by Malayalam Press. “I salute those parents with respect; Alin’s name will forever be remembered,” he added.

The Prime Minister also noted India’s progress in organ donation, describing it as a “great deed” and urging people to donate organs to those in need. He pointed out that many individuals have returned to normal life after receiving organ transplants, and that medical research in the field is also advancing rapidly, according to Metro Vaartha.

Modi encouraged continued support for organ donation, stating that it should be consistently promoted. He did not elaborate on specific government initiatives or future plans related to organ donation during his address.
