Indonesian Army Strengthens Community Bonds with Local Mothers in Sumenep
Sumenep, Indonesia – September 12, 2025 – In a proactive effort to foster stronger relationships with local communities, Sergeant Hamadan Hamadan Pelupessy of the Koramil 16/Gapura Kodim 0827/Sumenep conducted a Komsos (short for Komunikasi Sosial, or social interaction) engagement with mothers in Longos Village, Gapura District, Sumenep Regency today. The initiative underscores the Indonesian Army’s ongoing commitment to territorial fostering and maintaining a close rapport with the citizens they serve.
The meeting, held at the Longos Village hall, aimed to build upon existing positive relationships and promote cohesiveness within the community.Sergeant Hamadan emphasized the importance of open communication, stating, ”By staying in touch and communicating with one another, we can achieve many things.”
He highlighted that regular interaction allows for the strengthening of bonds between citizens,provides a platform for sharing vital information regarding local security and public order (kamtibmas),and offers a direct channel for residents to voice concerns.
Komsos activities are a core component of the Babinsa’s (Village Supervisory Non-Commissioned Officer) role, focusing on building trust and understanding within their assigned territories. “Communicating and interacting directly with all components of society is crucial to maintaining and fostering close relationships,” Sergeant Hamadan explained.
This engagement reflects a broader strategy by the Indonesian military to proactively address community needs and contribute to a secure and harmonious environment.
