Azamara 2027 Alaska Cruises & Tours: Denali, Rockies & More

by Emma Walker – News Editor

Azamara Cruises is expanding its Alaska offerings for 2027, adding a series of cruise/tour packages designed to provide a more immersive experience of the region and Western Canada, according to a statement released by the company.

The move follows a successful return to Alaska in 2026 and is based on feedback from passengers seeking deeper engagement with the destination, said Shandra Stoeterau, director of land product development at Azamara Cruises. “The return to Alaska in 2026 reaffirms what we hear time and again from our guests, that deeper, more immersive experiences are what matter most,” Stoeterau stated.

The new cruise/tour packages will combine Azamara’s 10- and 11-night sailings with four-, five-, and six-night pre- or post-cruise land programs. These packages include hotel accommodations, transfers, luggage handling, escorted tours, select meals, and admissions to attractions.

Among the available options is the “Alaska Explorer: Denali, Talkeetna, Riverboat & Rail” program, a four-night excursion available before or after a cruise. This program features a Chena River sternwheeler cruise, gold panning, travel in a Deluxe Dome Railcar, and exploration of Denali National Park. Optional additions include a jet boat ride in Talkeetna and a visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Center.

For those seeking to explore beyond Alaska, Azamara is offering the “Canadian Rockies: Rocky Mountaineer” tour, a five-night post-cruise journey through Banff National Park, Lake Louise, and Moraine Lake. Passengers can choose between GoldLeaf and SilverLeaf service levels on the Rocky Mountaineer train, with GoldLeaf offering elevated dome seating, gourmet dining, and outdoor viewing platforms. SilverLeaf provides panoramic windows and meals served at their seats.

A six-night pre-cruise option, “Banff, Lake Louise & Whistler: Journey through the Rockies,” will take guests from Calgary to Vancouver, featuring scenic drives, a bear viewing experience by Land Rover, and local wine tastings.

Azamara is also pairing select 2027 Alaska cruise/tours with transpacific sailings originating in Northern Japan, allowing guests to explore Japan before crossing the Pacific Ocean and continuing inland through Alaska and the Canadian Rockies.

Azamara Pursuit is the ship scheduled to sail to Alaska in 2026, offering cruises between Vancouver and Whittier, according to information available on alaskanakcruises.com. The cruises run from late May through early September, and are one-way, alternating between northbound and southbound routes.
