Avengers Doomsday: Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom Revealed in Hall H Sneak Peek

July 26, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

At the San Diego Comic-Con Hall H presentation on Saturday, Marvel fans received a detailed look at Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, featuring a tense confrontation between Victor Von Doom and Reed Richards alongside new details on the villain’s focus on the children of Marvel heroes. According to TheWrap, the preview reveals high-stakes conflict ahead of the film’s December 18 release.

The Hall H Sneak Peek and Narrative Setup

Following a brief Q&A featuring Ryan Reynolds in costume as Deadpool—who is not slated to make his Avengers debut in this installment—directors Anthony and Joe Russo rolled footage establishing Victor Von Doom’s history with the Fantastic Four. In the clip, Sue Storm, played by Vanessa Kirby, reflects on the antagonist’s past:

“Victor was always the smartest guy in every room. He used to be different,” Sue tells the other Marvel heroes in the footage. “He used to be kind, used to be caring. But then everything he loved was taken from him. I knew he was lost, but I did not realize that he was broken.”

Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards then appears amongst wreckage similar to the terrain shown with Thor in the initial teaser. When Richards demands to know if Doom is responsible for the devastation, Doom delivers a blunt reply:

“All of you have lived stolen lives. Now you must give them back.”

This narrative builds directly on the mid-credits scene of Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, where Doom looms over Reed and Sue’s son, Franklin. The new footage confirms that the antagonist is actively targeting the offspring of the universe’s defenders.

Later in the Hall H presentation, Thor protects his daughter—introduced at the conclusion of Thor: Love and Thunder—and threatens the villain directly:

“I swear, you will beg for hell long before I grant it.”

As Doom advances alongside an army of Sentinels drawn from the X-Men series, he answers simply: “Hell answers to me.”

Box Office Economics and Premium Format Strategy

Audience anticipation for Avengers: Doomsday is translating into early commercial momentum. The film secured $16.5 million in presales during its initial 24 hours of availability. These figures carry added weight because the sales were restricted to just 1,000 premium format screens.

The limited screen count stems from a strategic release window shared by Disney and Marvel’s “Infinity Vision” campaign. The initiative directs moviegoers toward specialized premium formats outside traditional IMAX branding. This scheduling accommodation exists because IMAX has committed to exclusively screening Warner Bros.’ Dune: Part Three during the exact same December 18 release frame.
