Austria’s top tennis players are set to compete on home courts in a busy stretch of tournaments beginning this week, highlighted by Davis Cup action and multiple Challenger events. The Lower Austria Open in Tulln and the Alpstar Ladies Open in Vienna both kick off on Monday, showcasing a wealth of Austrian talent.
The flurry of domestic competition provides a crucial possibility for Austrian athletes to gain ranking points and build momentum as the season progresses.Four Austrians-Lukas Neumayer (seeded third), Joel Schwärzler, Sandro Kopp, and Neil Oberleitner-will participate in the Tulln Challenger, led by British player Jan Choinski. Five additional Austrians competed in qualifying rounds, with veteran Dennis Novak advancing to the next stage. Simultaneously, the vienna La-Ville Club will host the Alpstar Ladies Open, an ITF-75 series tournament headlined by Spain’s Leyre Romero Gormaz (WTA no. 128) and Austria’s Sinja Kraus. Seventeen-year-old Lilli tagger, fresh off a finalist appearance at the ITF 75 tournament in Amstetten, will also compete thanks to a wildcard.

looking ahead, Filip Misolic, Jurij Rodionov, Neumayer, Alex Erler, and Lucas Miedler will represent Austria in the Davis Cup against Hungary on September 12th and 13th. Following the tulln event,the Layjet Open challenger in Bad Waltersdorf will rebrand as “Game,Set and Sieg” starting September 15th.
