Austin MacDonald Arrested for Multiple Toronto Break-Ins | CityNews Toronto

A 34-year-old Toronto man faces multiple criminal charges following a string of residential and vehicular break-ins in the city’s Weston neighborhood, toronto.citynews.ca reported. Austin MacDonald was arrested on September 19, after investigators linked him to several incidents involving stolen property, credit card fraud, and probation violations.

Garage break-in and dirt bike thefts near Jane and Church Streets

The sequence of crimes began on August 26. Police allege that MacDonald broke into a garage situated near Jane and Church Streets. During this initial incident, two dirt bikes were removed from the property. Investigators noted that the suspect returned to the exact same address approximately one week later, targeting a vehicle parked directly in the residential driveway.

Daytime residential break-in and subsequent financial fraud

The pattern shifted from property to occupied dwellings on September 19. Detectives stated that MacDonald forced entry into a residence in the Weston area while the homeowners were inside. Personal items, including jewelry and bank cards, were taken during the intrusion. Following that residence break-in, the suspect targeted another motor vehicle for personal property. The stolen bank cards were quickly utilized at a local retail store, where multiple purchases and cash withdrawals were made before authorities intervened.

Arrest and official charges filed by Toronto Police

Toronto police arrested MacDonald later on September 19, successfully recovering several items of evidentiary value during the apprehension. Court records show he was formally charged with five offences, alongside eight counts of breaching probation. The specific charges include two counts of break and enter, three counts of theft over $5,000, and two counts of possessing or using a credit card obtained by crime. He was scheduled to make a court appearance in Toronto on September 23.
