Highly-rated 2026 guard Austin Goosby will be in Salt Lake⁣ City to ‌watch BYU’s exhibition game against North Carolina, according to sources familiar with his recruitment. This ‍visit marks ⁤the 5-star recruit’s third trip to utah ⁣to evaluate the BYU program.

Goosby ‍recently completed an⁣ official⁣ visit ⁤to BYU September 26-28,his final official visit. He also officially visited ‌SMU, Miami, Duke, Texas,⁤ and Baylor. Prior to his official ⁢visit, Goosby unofficially visited Provo in March‌ to attend the ‍BYU-Utah basketball ‌game and a Cougars practice.

Ranked as the #19 player in the 2026 class by 247 Sports, Goosby is nearing a college decision. ⁢BYU is considered ⁤a strong contender for the LDS guard. Should he commit, Goosby would be BYU’s fourth commitment to the 2026 class and their first 5-star pledge.

analysts ⁣note that while Goosby ‌has a range ‌of strong ‍options, ‌BYU has ⁤gained⁤ important momentum since his official visit. Family ties make Texas a ⁣consistent top school, and Baylor has also⁤ recently made a strong impression.
