The disaster scenario did not occur for Nantes-Rezé, after its clear victory against Narbonne in the first leg (3-0). In a boiling Trocadière, the Nantais did not tremble on the return this Wednesday evening to overcome the Audois (3-1) in the 32nd finals of the CEV Cup.
Faced with Narbonnais unable to pocket a single set since the start of the season, Hubert Henno’s men quickly took control of the game. Much fairer and under the leadership of Hugo de Leon Guimaraes da Silva (15 points), the locals logically won the first round (25-17).
Narbonne sinks into crisis
With this victory, the people of Nantes were already assured of reaching the next round. Despite the loss of the second set (21-25), they continued to offer their best volleyball to win the last two sets (25-22, 25-23) and thus push the Narbonnais a little further into crisis. Nantes-Rezé will face another French team, Chaumont, in the round of 16.
