Antena 3 asserted its dominance in the television landscape on Tuesday, capturing the highest viewership for the day with a 13% audience share. The network outpaced its closest private competitor by 3.8 points and the public broadcaster by 2.7 points.

Daytime and Evening Wins Highlight Network Strength

The channel secured leadership in key time slots, including desktops (18.4%), afternoons (10.8%), and prime time (13.2%). This widespread success was fueled by its news programs, ‘Antena 3 News’ and ‘Sports’, alongside popular shows like ‘The Roulette of Luck’, ‘Pasapalabra’, and the series ‘Dreams of Freedom’, all topping their respective ratings.

News and Game Shows Drive Viewer Engagement

Antena 3 News, anchored by Victoria Arnau for its midday edition, recorded 1.975 million average viewers and a 23.5% share, marking its highest summer figure. The evening news bulletin, presented by Esther Vaquero, also garnered over 1.5 million viewers with an 18.9% share, solidifying Antena 3’s position as a trusted news source.

‘The Roulette of Luck’, hosted by Jorge Fernández and Laura Moure, was the day’s most-watched program, drawing 1.526 million viewers and a 21.9% share. It achieved the “gold minute” of the day, reaching nearly 2.8 million unique viewers. Following closely, ‘Pasapalabra’, led by Roberto Leal, captivated 1.501 million viewers with a 21.5% share, widening its lead over rivals.

‘Dreams of Freedom’ Consolidates Fiction Leadership

The daily series ‘Dreams of Freedom’, starring Natalia Sánchez, Dani Tata, and Oriol Tarrasón, continues to be television’s most-watched fiction. Its Tuesday broadcast achieved a 13.49% share, attracting 1.153 million average viewers and over 1.8 million unique viewers, marking its second-best summer performance.

Atresmedia Group Leads with Broad Appeal

Atresmedia as a group maintained its leadership with a 25.6% share, despite operating with one fewer channel than its main competitor. This indicates the strong performance across its portfolio of networks.

LaSexta Ranks Third Among Private Channels

LaSexta secured the third spot among private broadcasters with a 6% audience share. Its 2 PM news program was the most-watched on the channel, drawing 662,000 viewers and a 9% share, outperforming its direct competitor. The 8 PM news also performed well, with 424,000 viewers and a 6.3% share.

Nova Leads Among Women Viewers

Nova achieved a 2.1% share, leading its competitor and reinforcing its position as the top channel for female audiences, with ‘Emanet’ being its most-watched program of the day.

In comparison, the average viewership for a Spanish television channel in the 18-49 demographic during prime time in July 2023 was around 10-12%, highlighting Antena 3’s significant outperformance (Source: FormulaTV).
