ASUS Unveils World’s First AI-Powered Smart Office Computer

May 27, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

ASUS, the Taiwanese multinational electronics company, has unveiled a new desktop computer designed specifically for professional office environments, marking its latest foray into the enterprise-grade hardware market. The system, announced in a press release on June 10, 2024, is positioned as a high-performance alternative to traditional business laptops and workstations, catering to industries where reliability, security and ergonomic design are critical.

The desktop, part of ASUS’s expanding lineup of business-focused products, integrates proprietary cooling technology and modular components to address the demands of modern office workflows. According to internal documents reviewed by Sudan Independent, the device features an optional AI-assisted power management system, a first for ASUS in the commercial sector. The company did not disclose pricing or availability timelines, though industry sources suggest pre-orders may begin in the fourth quarter of 2024, with full commercial release targeted for early 2025.

ASUS’s move aligns with a broader industry shift toward specialized office hardware, as remote and hybrid work models continue to reshape corporate IT infrastructure. Competitors such as Dell and HP have already introduced similar all-in-one and modular desktop solutions, but ASUS’s entry is notable for its emphasis on AI-driven efficiency—a feature increasingly prioritized by enterprises seeking to reduce operational costs. The company’s decision to focus on desktops, rather than laptops, also reflects a strategic bet on the return of in-office collaboration, where larger displays and dedicated peripherals remain indispensable.

In an interview with TechRadar, ASUS’s vice president of business solutions, Mark Liu, confirmed that the new desktop was developed in response to feedback from enterprise clients frustrated with the limitations of ultraportable devices. “Our research showed that while laptops dominate the mobile workforce, desktops still outperform them in stability, security, and multi-tasking for knowledge workers,” Liu stated. The system’s design incorporates a reinforced chassis, optional biometric authentication, and compatibility with ASUS’s existing ProArt and ProView professional display lines, creating an ecosystem that rivals offerings from Lenovo, and Cisco.

Security remains a cornerstone of the device’s specification sheet, with hardware-level encryption and compliance certifications for industries such as finance and healthcare. ASUS has not disclosed whether the desktop will support its ASUS AIoT platform, which integrates smart office peripherals, but industry analysts suggest the company is positioning the product as a gateway for larger enterprise AI deployments. The absence of a dedicated gaming or creative workload focus further underscores its targeting of corporate buyers, where uptime and data integrity are non-negotiable.

Always Incredible | IFA 2024 ASUS LAUNCH EVENT

The launch comes as ASUS faces growing competition in the enterprise market from both legacy players and emerging tech firms. In May 2024, Lenovo introduced its ThinkCentre Neo series, which similarly emphasizes AI-assisted productivity tools, while Microsoft has been aggressively promoting its Surface Hub devices for collaborative office environments. ASUS’s entry into this space is seen by some observers as an attempt to consolidate its position as a one-stop provider for businesses, following its acquisitions of ROG Ally and expansions in the data center server market.

Despite the optimism surrounding the product, challenges remain. The global PC market has seen a 3.5% decline in the first half of 2024, according to IDC, with enterprise spending particularly volatile amid economic uncertainty. ASUS’s ability to convert interest into sales will hinge on its distribution strategy, particularly in regions where hybrid work policies are still evolving. The company has not yet confirmed whether the desktop will be sold exclusively through its ASUS Business channel or made available to retail partners, a decision that could significantly impact its market penetration.

For now, the focus remains on the technical specifications and the unanswered question of how ASUS will differentiate its offering in a crowded field. The company’s next steps—including potential partnerships with cloud service providers or software developers—will determine whether this desktop becomes a niche success or a catalyst for broader adoption of AI-driven office infrastructure.
