Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: Release Date Confirmed, First Gameplay Footage Leaked, Enhanced Pirate Adventure Coming in July
Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced will be released on July 2, 2024, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The announcement was made during a Ubisoft Forward presentation on June 10, 2024, where the publisher unveiled a new trailer showcasing enhanced graphics, improved lighting, and updated character models for the remastered version of the 2013 open-world pirate adventure.
According to the trailer, the Resynced edition includes 4K resolution support, ray-traced reflections, and a reworked weather system designed to heighten immersion in the Caribbean setting. The game will also feature all previously released downloadable content, including the Freedom Cry expansion, which follows the story of Adéwalé, Edward Kenway’s former quartermaster.
Ubisoft Montpellier, the studio leading the remaster, stated in a press release that the project aims to preserve the original game’s core mechanics although modernizing its technical foundation for current-generation hardware. The development team emphasized that no major gameplay alterations were made, focusing instead on visual fidelity and performance stability.
Pre-orders for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced opened on June 11, 2024, via the Ubisoft Store and major digital retailers. Customers who pre-order will receive the Black Isle Pack, containing exclusive cosmetic items for Edward Kenway’s ship, the Jackdaw, and a unique outfit inspired by 18th-century privateers.
The release date aligns with Ubisoft’s broader strategy to revitalize its back catalog through targeted remasters, following the recent launches of Assassin’s Creed III Remastered and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’s original remaster on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2018.
As of June 15, 2024, Ubisoft has not announced plans for a physical edition of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, nor has it confirmed whether the game will be available on subscription services such as Ubisoft+ at launch.
