Geneva, Switzerland – On February 11, 2026, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), convened a meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions from OTS member states accredited in Geneva. The meeting brought together representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, according to a statement released by the OTS.

Participants included Galib Israfilov, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva; Erzhan Kazykhanov, representing Kazakhstan; Omar Sultanov, the Kyrgyz Republic’s Permanent Representative; Burak Akçapar, representing Türkiye; and Eldiyor Toshmatov, the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan. The OTS Deputy Secretary General too attended the discussions.

Omuraliev emphasized the organization’s ongoing efforts to bolster cooperation among its member states. He specifically highlighted the importance of the Geneva meeting and a concurrent Customs Heads Meeting in advancing sustainable development within the realms of transport and trade, as reported by Kabar, a Kyrgyz news agency.

The diplomatic representatives discussed strategies for improved coordination within Geneva and explored avenues to enhance the visibility and representation of the OTS. They also considered opportunities to deepen engagement with Geneva-based international organizations and stakeholders, according to the OTS press service.

The permanent representatives reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening solidarity and coordinated action in promoting the OTS agenda at the multilateral level. They expressed their willingness to actively support the organization’s initiatives within Geneva.

Separately, Zaur İsrafilov, a representative of İKMA Machinery MMC, the official SDLG distributor in Azerbaijan, participated in the SDLG Global Dealer Summit 2026 in Hangzhou, China. The summit, which included partners from over 140 countries, focused on SDLG’s strategic roadmap, product development, and market trends.

The OTS Secretary General’s meeting in Geneva occurred as international conferences across Asia continue to be scheduled for February 2026, offering opportunities for academic and professional development, according to AllConferenceAlert.com.
