Saturday, September 6, 2025 – Beirut, Lebanon – A late equalizer from Phatcha Buaphan secured a 2-2 draw for the Thailand U23 national team against Lebanon U23 in a crucial Asian Football Championship qualifying match. The result leaves Thailand with four points and atop Group F.
The match, part of the qualifying rounds for the tournament for players aged 23 and under, saw a disrupted first half. In the 8th minute,Burapha’s shot struck the post,cleared by a Lebanese defender. Thanakrit Chotin delivered a cross in the 25th minute, met by Night. Play was halted in the 35th minute due to heavy rainfall causing waterlogging on the pitch, resuming after a one-hour delay.
The first half concluded scoreless. Lebanon took the lead in the 48th minute when Hafahaz headed in a corner kick. Thailand responded in the 73rd minute with a goal from Night, leveling the score at 1-1.
Lebanon regained the advantage in the 84th minute through a header from Hithaz off a free kick. However, Buaphan’s 88th-minute strike ensured the match ended in a draw.
With the tie,Thailand U23 now has four points in Group F. in the group’s other match, Malaysia defeated Mongolia 7-0.
