Baník Ostrava to Sign Slovak Midfielder Arthur Musák
Ostrava, Czech Republic – September 3, 2025 – Baník Ostrava is set to acquire 19-year-old midfielder Arthur Musák from Michalovce in a permanent transfer, reportedly reaching up to €700,000, according to Slovak media.The deal was confirmed by Baník Ostrava owner Václav brabec during a recent stream and subsequently by Musák himself in an interview with Denník Šport.
Musák, who joined Michalovce at age 13 and established himself in the first team, was also a target for Pilsen, but ultimately chose Baník. He is a potential future player for the Slovak national team under 21.
“I haven’t celebrated anything yet. It all happened quickly. If I should be honest,I’m surprised,” Musák stated.”On Wednesday we had training in the morning and after lunch I read on social networks that it is already agreed. At the first moment I did not believe it.”
The midfielder revealed the deciding factor in his choice was the anticipated playing time. “He decided the game time I should get on the pitch. In this period of career, just a minute is very vital to me. From this point of view, Baník will be the best choice,” he explained. He also cited baník’s passionate fanbase, stating, “Baník has super fans. I wanted to experience the atmosphere at his home games.”
Musák will undergo a medical examination on Thursday, with official confirmation of the cooperation expected to follow. He has signed a five-year contract, extending through the summer of 2030.
