Arsenal monitoring Rio Ngumoha as he seeks Liverpool pay rise, Teamtalk reports
Arsenal are keeping tabs on Liverpool teenager Rio Ngumoha as he is set to enter the final year of his contract and wants a big pay rise, Teamtalk reports.
Contract Stalemates and Youth Uncertainty at Anfield
Liverpool face complex contract negotiations across their roster heading into the autumn schedule. While veteran figures like Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker negotiate their own expiring deals in their 30s, attention has simultaneously turned to the opposite end of the age spectrum with Ngumoha.
Ngumoha has experienced a difficult start to the campaign after Liverpool signed two players in his natural position. That recruitment forced the teenager to feature on the right wing, a tactical deployment he is not entirely suited for. As he prepares to enter the final year of his contract next summer, the player wants a substantial pay rise to commit to a new deal.

Interest from Rival Clubs
Teamtalk reported that Arsenal and Bayern Munich are closely monitoring the situation. Both clubs would welcome the opportunity to sign Ngumoha, who could choose to wait out his current terms and join either suitor for a small compensation fee next summer. While a move to Arsenal would prove painful for Liverpool supporters, the club faces mounting pressure to resolve the impasse quickly.
Resolving the situation will almost certainly require offering the young Englishman greater on-pitch guarantees. That task remains complicated after the club spent nearly £200 million on players occupying his position. Nevertheless, Liverpool possess few alternatives if they intend to retain one of the country’s brightest young talents.
