LAS VEGAS – The Arkansas Razorbacks and Texas Tech Red Raiders will renew their rivalry with a high-profile matchup to open the 2030 college football season,as announced today. The game,dubbed the Vegas Kickoff Classic,will be played at Allegiant Stadium,home of the Las Vegas Raiders,over Labor Day weekend (August 29 – September 1).
This contest adds to a previously scheduled home-and-home series between the two programs. Originally slated to play in Lubbock in 2030 and Fayetteville in 2031,the series has been adjusted to feature the Las Vegas opener,with the Lubbock game now moved to 2034. The Razorbacks recently defeated the Red Raiders in the 2024 AutoZone Liberty Bowl, continuing a series that dates back to their days as Southwest Conference rivals – a conference affiliation lasting over 30 years.
The 2030 Vegas Kickoff Classic will be nationally televised on ABC or an ESPN platform, with specific broadcast details to be released at a later date. This game is part of a five-game lineup for the classic, which also includes BYU versus Oregon State (2028), Miami versus Utah (2027), North Dakota State versus Montana State (2027), and Montana versus South Dakota State (2029).
