by Emma Walker – News Editor

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PHOENIX – The Arizona Game and Fish Department has released its proposed recommendations for the 2026 spring and fall hunting seasons for turkey and bison, making them available for public review. The department has also posted proposed recommendations for the take of raptors, amphibians, crustaceans, mollusks, and reptiles for the 2026-2030 seasons.

These proposed hunt structures and recommendations are a direct result of the hunt guidelines recently approved by the Arizona Game and Fish Commission. The public can access all proposed recommendations and learn more about the hunt guidelines process by visiting www.azgfd.com/hunting/regulations/hunt-guidelines-process/.

Individuals with questions or comments regarding specific game management units or hunts are encouraged to submit them via email to azhuntguidelines@azgfd.gov. Alternatively, the public can contact any of the department’s regional offices statewide and request to speak with a game management biologist. No formal presentations are scheduled.

The commission is expected to consider these proposed hunt recommendations during a public meeting on August 8. The meeting will be held at the Little America Hotel, located at 2515 E. Butler Ave. in Flagstaff, Arizona. The official agenda for this meeting will be published on the department’s website at www.azgfd.gov/commission.
