Arizona state Receiver Jordyn Tyson Expected to Return Against Colorado
TEMPE – Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is trending toward a return for the Sun Devils’ November 22nd game at Colorado, coach Kenny Dillingham said Monday. Tyson has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury sustained against Texas Tech.
Tyson’s injury occurred before ASU’s matchups against Houston and Iowa State. Dillingham indicated Tyson’s recovery timeline aligns with a potential return against the Buffaloes, stating,”His timeline’s probably more Colorado from where his injury was. It’s probably trending more to have a chance at that one, but he’s doing everything he can to get back.”
Prior to his injury, Tyson was a key component of the ASU offense, accounting for 75% of the receptions by Sun Devil wide receivers. In his absence, Malik McClain and Jalen Moss have seen increased roles, with McClain recording a career-high seven catches for 159 yards against Houston and moss posting a season-best 52 yards against Iowa State.
The update on Tyson came alongside news that running back Kyson brown is “probably gonna be out for the year” due to an ankle injury. Safety Xavion Alford is also expected to return after the bye week, with defensive end Prince Dorbah and linebacker Tate Romney also having “really good shots” to play following the team’s break.
Arizona State concludes its season at Colorado on November 22nd and at home against Arizona on November 28th.
