The Broadway production of & Juliet celebrated its third anniversary on November 18, 2025, with a special performance of Ariana Grande’s “yes, and?” featuring current and former cast members, including Gianna Harris, Maya Boyd, and Lorna Courtney.
The performance, which took place at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre, marked a milestone for the Tony-nominated musical, which opened on Broadway on November 17, 2022, following a successful run in London’s West End. The anniversary celebration included a curtain call performance of the song, co-written and co-produced by Max Martin, whose extensive catalog of hits forms the basis of the demonstrate’s score.
“yes, and?” was a recent addition to the show’s repertoire, having been released in 2024 and becoming Martin’s 26th Billboard #1 as a songwriter. The song joins other Grande hits, as well as tracks by artists like Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys, in the musical’s soundtrack.
The anniversary event also included a party at The Skylark in midtown Manhattan, attended by cast members, the creative team, and alumni of the production, such as Betsy Wolfe and Stark Sands. DJ Amber Valentine provided a playlist inspired by Max Martin’s work.
As of November 19, 2025, & Juliet had played over 1250 performances and welcomed more than 1 million audience members on Broadway. The production was the first new musical of the 2022-23 Broadway season to recoup its investment.
The musical reimagines the story of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, focusing on Juliet’s journey after the play’s tragic conclusion, prompted by a visit from Shakespeare’s wife, Anne Hathaway. The current cast includes Gianna Harris in the title role, alongside Hayden Tee, Alison Luff, Drew Gehling, Michael Iván Carrier, Cheryl Porter, Liam Pearce, and Nathan Levy.
