Archi Conte Family Tour at Musée Bossuet in Meaux

Archi Conte Family Tour at Musée Bossuet in Meaux

October 18, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

Twenty visitors will step back to 1910 this weekend at the Musée Bossuet in Meaux, guided by Berthe Lefèvre, an institutrice in 1910, during the Archi Conte event. The tour runs on October 17 and October 18, 2026, as part of the Week-end Archi famille programming.

Visiting Meaux Through 1910 Folklore

The guided tour blends local history with regional folklore, tasking Berthe Lefèvre with bringing the museum’s walls, chimneys, and floors to life through tales and legends. According to schedules published by Musée Bossuet, the Saturday session begins at 11:00 AM, while Sunday’s walk takes place at 4:00 PM.

Admission requires an Archi Pass priced at 6 euros per person. The pass remains valid across both days, granting entry to all scheduled activities, subject to remaining capacity. Capacity for the storytelling walk is capped at 20 places.

History Inside the Bishop’s Palace

The Musée Bossuet occupies the episcopal palace, a historic setting that houses the city’s historical collections, gathered in the 19th century. Inaugurated in 1927, the institution preserves more than 5,500 varied objects tied to the history of the territory, alongside an iconographic fund concerning Jacques-Bénigne Bossuet, bishop of Meaux.

The museum’s fine art holdings expanded through scientific bequests, including a legacy from the son of Henri Moissan, the 1906 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry, which brought works by Jean-François Millet, Jean-Léon Gérôme, and Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps. Since 1983, donations from Jean-Pierre and Annie Changeux further enriched the seventeenth- and eighteenth-century painting collections with pieces by Jacques Blanchard, Sébastien Bourdon, and Mathieu le Nain.

Travelers arriving for the weekend events can access Meaux via the A4 motorway toward Nancy by taking the exit for Meaux, centre Historique, Cathédrale, or by taking the SNCF rail line from Gare de l’Est-Banlieue.
