Aragon Football Matches Postponed Due to Storm – Feb 15th Update

February 14, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

All official football and futsal matches in Aragon, Spain, have been suspended for Saturday, February 14, 2026, due to a severe storm impacting the region, the Aragonese Football Federation announced.

The suspension applies to all levels of competition, including youth leagues, regional divisions, and the Tercera Federación, according to a statement released via the federation’s social media channels. The decision was made “in the interest of guaranteeing safety,” particularly for grassroots football and futsal matches, with the province of Teruel expected to be heavily affected.

Matches scheduled for Sunday, February 15, are currently expected to proceed as planned, pending further assessment of the weather conditions. This includes games in the Third RFEF, where a match between Cuarte and Épila was slated for Saturday, a result keenly anticipated by league leaders Calamocha.

The suspension impacts several specific fixtures. The Preferential Regional match between Calamocha B and Alcañiz, as well as the First Regional group 4 match between Utrillas B and Caspe B, have been postponed. Youth matches across cadet, children, juvenile, and benjamin categories, which were largely scheduled for Saturday, are also affected.

The disruption extends to futsal competitions, with matches including Zafán’s home game against Ainzón, and trips for Alcañiz to Paniza and Boca Híjar to Utebo, all postponed. A Second Autonomous Community women’s division match involving Polideportivo Andorra is also suspended, though the team had a scheduled rest day.

The Royal Aragonese Football Federation (RFAF), established in 1922, is the governing body for football in Aragon and organizes Group 17 of the Tercera Federación in conjunction with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The RFAF also oversees regional divisions within the Spanish football league system, as confirmed by information on its official website, www.futbolaragon.com.

Teruel’s National Youth League match, scheduled to be played away against Huesca, and the Second Regional match between Monreal and Lécera, set to grab place on the Jiloquense field, have also been called off. The federation stated it will continue to monitor the weather situation to determine the status of matches beyond Sunday.
