Apple Dominates Mature Smartphone Market Growth in 2025

February 11, 2026 Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor Health

Apple reported record-breaking performance for its services division in 2025, exceeding $102.5 billion in revenue for the fiscal fourth quarter, an 8% increase year-over-year, according to a company announcement made November 4, 2025. The results come as Apple prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary, with anticipated store redesigns and product display updates slated to begin November 12, according to Bloomberg reporting.

The company’s earnings per share, adjusted, rose 13% to $1.85. Apple executives anticipate strong performance during the holiday season, projecting approximately $140 billion in revenue, a figure that would build on the strong fourth-quarter results. The company’s success in services, including Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Pay, and iCloud, is attributed to continued innovation and global expansion.

Apple Pay processed over $100 billion in merchant sales globally, significantly outpacing overall consumer spending growth during the November-December holiday shopping season, and prevented more than $1 billion in potential fraud. The App Store saw an average of 850 million weekly active users, and developers have collectively earned over $550 billion since the store’s launch in 2008.

The company as well saw record viewership on Apple TV in December 2025 and achieved all-time highs in both listener numbers and new subscriptions for Apple Music. Updates to Apple’s operating systems, including the release of iPadOS 26.1, which reintroduced the ‘Slide Over’ feature and incorporated improvements to the ‘Liquid Glass’ design language, were also deployed across all platforms. Further OS updates for iOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS are planned, focusing on stability and compatibility enhancements.

Looking ahead, Apple is expected to release the fourth-generation iPhone SE in February or March, based on the iPhone 14 design and featuring an A18 chip, a 48-megapixel single camera, and a self-developed 5G modem. An 11th-generation iPad and M4-powered MacBook Air are also anticipated in the first half of 2025. Apple’s services division’s growth in 2025 outpaced that of its competitors combined, with the company acquiring more new active devices than the combined total of those added by companies ranked second through eighth in the market.
