Aogiri High School VTuber Komaru Kurigoma suspends activities
Aogiri High School VTuber Komaru Kurigoma has suspended all virtual activities effective October 2, 2026, citing undisclosed contractual reasons.
Contractual Deadlock Behind the Sudden Hiatus
Management released a statement confirming that the decision followed discussions between operational staff and the performer herself. The official notice emphasized that the current situation involves contract-related content, rendering detailed circumstances strictly confidential. Operating teams urged fans not to direct inquiries regarding the disruption toward Kurigoma or her peer group, alongside offering formal apologies to supporters and industry partners.
From 2021 Debut to ASMR and Manga Collaborations
Kurigoma originally debuted on August 14, 2021, launching her career as a first-year student alongside fellow peer Chiyouura Chami. Her channel gained a substantial following through bold ASMR streams, candid adult-leaning topics, and live-action exterior video projects that broke past standard facial-tracking formats.
Expanding Into Publishing and KADOKAWA Projects
Beyond her streaming footprint, she expanded into publishing and media adaptations. In 2023, she participated in promotional visuals and manga-recreation projects for Weekly Shonen Magazine serialized titles including Easygoing Evil Lord and Does the Student Council Have a Hole! KADOKAWA's Fantasia Bunko imprint announced an upcoming yuri-themed novel by Kurigoma, slated for release following an August 15, 2026 announcement where she expressed enthusiasm for completing the project.
Agency Peers Express Deep Bewilderment
Peer reaction within the agency highlighted the sudden nature of the suspension. Aogiri High School veteran member Tamako Otodama addressed the community via social media, stating that she felt deeply bewildered by the announcement. Otodama acknowledged viewer anxiety regarding the sudden change, advising supporters to rely strictly on official statements while she processes the emotional impact of the event.
