ANO Leads Czech Polls: Latest Election Results & Analysis

March 22, 2026 Emma Walker – News Editor News

The ANO movement continues to lead in Czech pre-election polls, garnering 34.2 percent of the vote, a figure nearly identical to its 34.51 percent result in the previous parliamentary elections. The latest survey indicates a fragmented political landscape, particularly regarding potential coalition formations.

Notably, the poll does not account for the Spolu coalition – comprised of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), TOP 09, and the Christian Democrats – which contested the previous elections as a unified bloc. The future of Spolu remains uncertain, impacting the overall electoral calculations. Without a unified Spolu, the individual parties face varying levels of support. According to the poll, ODS would secure 12.2 percent of the vote, trailing behind the STAN movement, which is projected to receive 13.3 percent.

The Pirate Party is expected to achieve 8.1 percent, while the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) party is forecast to gain 7.1 percent. Several other parties are struggling to surpass the 5 percent threshold required for parliamentary representation. The Motoristé party stands at 4.8 percent, narrowly missing the cutoff, while TOP 09 is projected to receive 3.1 percent and the Christian Democrats 2.4 percent.

Recent polling data from STEM indicates a decline in support for ANO, marking the first time the movement has fallen below 30 percent. Simultaneously, the Spolu coalition has experienced gains, suggesting a potential shift in voter preferences, though the coalition’s structure remains unresolved. [Prague Daily News]

A separate survey suggests a majority of Czech citizens favor a coalition government formed by ANO, SPD, and Motoristé. [Prague Daily News] This preference highlights a potential path to power for these parties, despite the complexities of forming a stable governing majority.

The Spolu coalition recently launched its election campaign ahead of the upcoming October polls, aiming to regain momentum and present a unified front to voters. [Brno Daily] The campaign’s success will be crucial in determining whether Spolu can overcome the challenges posed by its fragmented support and the rise of other political forces.
