Veteran Actress Anna Seniuk Recounts Maintaining Professional Distance From Son During Theater School Audition
Warsaw – Celebrated Polish actress Anna seniuk recently shared a humorous anecdote about maintaining professional boundaries with her son, actor Grzegorz Małecki, during his theater school audition. the story,revealed in an interview with “Wprost,” highlights a intentional effort to avoid any appearance of favoritism.
seniuk was married to director Maciej Małecki from 1971 to 1994, and the couple share two children: Grzegorz and Magdalena. While Grzegorz Małecki has achieved recognition in his own right, notably for his role in the popular television series “M jak miłość,” he reportedly never leveraged his mother’s fame.
The audition took an unexpected turn when Grzegorz appeared before a committee that included his mother. according to Seniuk, upon recognizing her son, she immediately excused herself from the room. Grzegorz, for his part, reportedly acted as if he didn’t know her, addressing her formally as “professor.”
“we never worked together, but we maintained a professional relationship during rehearsals. we addressed each other as Mr. Director and Mrs. Professor,” Seniuk explained. The premiere took place on the stage of the Polonia Theater at Krystyna Janda‘s.
Despite a personal connection to the arts – and a family history within it – Seniuk continues to actively pursue her career. She recently celebrated the 60th anniversary of her professional debut and, remarkably, has only taken one sick day in several decades.
Grzegorz Małecki was previously married to actress Kinga Ilgner, with whom he has two children, Franciszek and Antonina.The couple divorced in 2011 after a period of separation, but Ilgner maintains a close relationship with Seniuk, who was reportedly distressed by the separation.
