Ann-Margret Wants Lindsay Lohan to Star in Her Biopic

Ann-Margret is open to a biopic about her life, but emphasizes that the project’s success hinges on the script. “I know that she wants to do that,” Ann-Margret stated, referring to Lindsay Lohan‘s expressed interest in portraying her. “It just depends on what the dialog is like. What can I say? I adore her. I think she’s full of talent, and I just would like to see what they can come up with.”

While Ann-Margret hasn’t pinpointed a specific period of her life she’d prefer to see dramatized on film, her storied career offers numerous compelling narratives. These include a meaningful onstage fall in Lake Tahoe in 1972, her widely publicized relationship with Elvis Presley, her rapid ascent to stardom with “Bye Bye Birdie,” and her career resurgence in the 1970s, which earned her multiple Oscar nominations.

Lindsay Lohan previously shared with Andy Cohen that she and Ann-Margret were collaborating on the film’s story. “It has to be the way that she wants it to be, so I really want it to be special in that way,” Lohan said, as reported by People.

In an interview with Bustle, Lohan praised Ann-Margret as a “triple threat” and an “amazing woman,” expressing her desire to “do her justice and help tell a grate story for her.” Lohan also recommended Ann-Margret’s 1964 film “Kitten With a Whip,” describing its plot as centering on a young woman who escapes a mental institution and infiltrates the home of a senatorial candidate, subsequently holding him captive.

Ann-Margret is scheduled to appear at the Cinecon Film Festival in Los Angeles during Labor Day weekend, august 29-September 1. Other honorees at the festival include Juliet Mills and Mamie Van Doren. IndieWire will publish a comprehensive interview with Ann-Margret next week.
