Beagle Freedom Project Seeks Dedicated Rescue, Foster & Adoptions Associate
Los Angeles, CA – Beagle Freedom project (BFP), a national non-profit dedicated to rescuing animals used in laboratory testing, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Rescue, Foster & Adoptions Associate to join its growing team. This is a dynamic role for a passionate animal welfare advocate with a strong commitment to ending animal testing.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced habitat. This position requires a hands-on approach, encompassing everything from coordinating complex animal rescues to supporting foster families and potential adopters.
What You’ll Do:
This role is central to BFP’s life-saving work. Key responsibilities include:
Rescue Coordination: Actively participate in and coordinate animal rescues of all sizes, providing direct care, arranging transport, and managing logistics.
Travel Management: Handle all aspects of rescue travel, including booking flights, hotels, and ground transportation.
Content Creation Support: Collaborate with photographers and videographers to capture compelling stories of rescued animals, ensuring high-quality visual assets for BFP’s outreach.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of rescue operations, providing regular updates to leadership and the wider team.
Foster & Adoption Support: Cultivate and support BFP’s network of foster families and potential adopters, managing applications, conducting interviews and home checks.
Veterinary Care: Schedule and coordinate veterinary appointments, manage invoices, and ensure animals receive necesary medical attention.
Community Engagement: Assist with adoption events, outreach initiatives, and fundraising efforts.
Digital Presence: Maintain BFP’s online presence by posting animal profiles and engaging content on the website and social media platforms.
CRM Management: Maintain and update BFP’s customer relationship management (CRM) system and shared documents.
What You’ll Bring:
experience: Minimum of two years of hands-on animal care and rescue experience.
Physical Capabilities: Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and adhere to strict animal and personal safety protocols.
Animal Health Knowledge: Basic understanding of animal health, including the ability to recognise common ailments and administer medication.
Communication Skills: exceptional verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding ability to build rapport and work effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
