No Operations in Puebla, State Security Secretariat Confirms

Despite his apprehension in Puebla, Francisco Sánchez González, head of the State Public Security Secretariat (SSP), clarified that “El cariser” did not conduct criminal activities within the state. According to Sánchez González, the suspect’s presence in Puebla was a tactic to evade authorities amidst ongoing operations in Tabasco.

The SSP official also commented on the alleged ties of “El Cariser” and the “La Barredora” group to Senator and former presidential candidate Adán augusto López. Sánchez González noted that while “La Barredora” operates in both Puebla and Tabasco, their criminal activities differ. He also indicated a potential link between the group and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), stating that while some activities, such as fuel theft (“huachicoleo”), overlap between the two states, othre criminal enterprises, like migrant trafficking, are distinct. However, he suggested that these differentiated operations likely serve the same overarching criminal institution.
