Anderlecht Pursues Mihajlo Ilic to Bolster Defense Before Transfer Deadline
RSC Anderlecht is reportedly making a last-minute push to secure Mihajlo Ilic, a 22-year-old Serbian defender from Bologna FC, as the Belgian transfer window nears its close. The club is seeking to reinforce its defensive line, despite already having yasin Özcan on loan from aston Villa, who has yet to make a significant impact.
Anderlecht’s pursuit of Ilic comes as Bologna appears unlikely to feature the player in their plans. Ilic joined Bologna in January 2024 for €3.5 million from partizan Belgrade but was promptly loaned back to his former club. Despite the move, he hasn’t established a consistent role with the Italian side. Anderlecht is proposing a loan deal for Ilic, with the transfer deadline looming at midnight.
Ilic, born on June 4, 2003, is a 192cm tall defender who currently wears the number 5 shirt. He represents Serbia internationally.
The potential acquisition aims to address a clear need within the Anderlecht squad adn provide Ilic with increased playing time. All web market reports the deal is a race against the clock as the transfer window closes.
