An estimated 110,000 patients face potential exposure following a cybercriminal data leak targeting

October 31, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

An estimated 110,000 patients face potential exposure following a cybercriminal data leak targeting the Pharmacie de la Cigogne in Strasbourg, according to a cybercriminal forum on October 31, 2026. The breach exposes sensitive health and insurance records, including names, dates of birth, and social security numbers tied to the central Strasbourg pharmacy.

Strasbourg Pharmacy Database Put on Sale

The leak surfaced on an underground cybercriminal forum on October 31, 2026, where an unauthorized actor claimed to have extracted the complete patient registry of the pharmacy located on Grand’Rue. Fuites Infos analyzed that the published sample contains approximately 1,000 lines of data and four distinct prescriptions. The compromised files link insured individuals directly to their dependents, including minor children.

The leaked sample reveals names, birth dates, social security numbers, primary health insurance funds, and supplemental health coverage details. For vulnerable individuals, the data specifies participation in the complementary health solidarity scheme or state medical aid. While the exposed records omit physical addresses, telephone numbers, and email contacts, the inclusion of social security numbers creates severe risks of identity theft across social security and healthcare organizations.

Threat Actor Claims Compromise of National Health Insurance Systems

The threat actor also claims to have compromised internal pharmacy systems, including insurance claim files and tele-services tools operated by France’s national health insurance. These wider system claims remain unverified by independent auditors. Four separate prescriptions authored by a Strasbourg physician between May and August 2026 were published alongside the database excerpt, though the documents do not explicitly name the pharmacy.

The incident mirrors a simultaneous attack disclosed on the same day against the Pharmacie des Congrès in Dijon, which shared identical ransom and contact frameworks on the cybercriminal forum. Officials at the Pharmacie de la Cigogne have not issued a public statement regarding the alleged intrusion. Affected patients face distinct risks regarding the exposure of confidential medical treatments and social welfare statuses, prompting the need for strict monitoring of social security accounts and supplementary health dossiers.
