Amiens Métropole: Artist Residencies for Arts Education (2026-2027)
Amiens Métropole has launched a call for projects for three artistic residency-missions focused on arts education and cultural engagement, running from February 15 to July 15, 2027. The initiative, a collaboration with the DRAC Hauts-de-France, the French national education system, and the Somme Departmental Council, aims to broaden access to arts and culture across the Amiens Métropole area.
The residencies are part of a larger metropolitan contract to generalize arts and cultural education (CMEAC), designed to mobilize resources and expertise to provide arts experiences for children, young people, and families throughout their lives. Artists and collectives from all disciplines are invited to apply, focusing on one of two thematic axes.
The first axis emphasizes intergenerational engagement, encouraging projects that mix audiences regardless of age or location. The second focuses on community-based work, aiming to connect rural, suburban, and urban areas within Amiens Métropole. The goal is to foster interaction between these different territorial contexts.
Each residency will span four months, totaling 90 days of work distributed over a period of five to six days per week. The DRAC Hauts-de-France, a regional branch of the French Ministry of Culture, is a key partner in the initiative. Its Amiens site, located at 5 rue Henry-Daussy, serves as a point of contact for inquiries, operating by phone Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The DRAC is currently led by regional director Hilaire Multon, conservateur général du patrimoine.
The deadline for applications is midnight on April 21, 2026. Further details and application materials are available for download through Amiens Métropole.
