American Flight Attendant Sentenced for Filming Minors on Airplane

New Delhi – A recent update to the TimesApps JavaScript code indicates a strategic integration of marketing and user engagement tools, including Google Tag Manager (gtag.js), Facebook Pixel (fbevents.js), and Survicate. This enhancement aims to refine campaign tracking and gather user feedback across various sections of the Times of India digital platform.

The updated code, designed to be executed within the browser habitat, initializes a suite of functionalities. It establishes a global namespace, window.TimesApps, and defines a method toiPlusEvents. This method is responsible for conditionally loading the aforementioned marketing and feedback tools based on user subscription status and campaign activation flags.

Specifically, the code checks for the presence of toiplus_site_settings, which should contain flags for isGoogleCampaignActive and isFBCampaignActive. If these settings are available and the user is not a prime subscriber, both Google and Facebook tracking events are initiated. Additionally, Survicate, a customer feedback platform, is loaded if its associated sections are permitted.

In scenarios where the initial configuration is not readily available, or if the user is identified as a prime subscriber, the system fetches site settings from a remote endpoint at https://jarvis.indiatimes.com/v1/feeds/toi_plus/site_settings/643526e21443833f0c454615?db_env=published. This dynamic fetching allows for real-time adjustments to campaign tracking and Survicate integration based on whether the user is accessing the platform via a prime user layout.

The Survicate integration involves dynamically creating a script element to load the Survicate JavaScript library from https://survey.survicate.com/workspaces/0be6ae9845d14a7c8ff08a7a00bd9b21/web_surveys.js. It also includes a mechanism to set visitor traits, such as subscription status and geolocation, either directly or by listening for a SurvicateReady event.

This technical update underscores a commitment to data-driven marketing and user experience optimization, enabling more targeted advertising and personalized feedback collection for the Times of India’s digital offerings.
