AMD Zen 6, 7, and 8 Roadmap: Future CPU Architectures and AM6 Socket Details
Advanced Micro Devices has outlined its upcoming processor roadmap, confirming that the current AM5 platform will reach its final iteration with the Zen 7 architecture before the company transitions to the AM6 socket with Zen 8 in 2030, according to reports from PCTuning.cz and Diit.cz. The hardware schedule, detailed in recent disclosures, maps out the company’s product architecture developments over the next several years.
Zen 6 Epyc Processors and Server V-Cache
According to Diit.cz, the Zen 6 server generation will reintroduce V-cache technology to enterprise processors, following its selective deployment in prior generations.
Client Architecture Milestones: Zen 7 and Zen 8
For consumer desktops and mobile devices, the roadmap establishes clear generational boundaries. According to PCTuning.cz and Diit.cz, Zen 7 processors will debut in 2028 and will introduce ACE acceleration, while serving as the final CPU generation to support the AM5 motherboard socket. Following Zen 7, the Zen 8 architecture is scheduled for a 2030 release and will require a transition to the new AM6 platform.
Mobile Performance Benchmarks
According to Svět hardware, a 10-core AMD Ryzen processor designated as “Medusa Point” outperforms the existing Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 by 19 to 27 percent in preliminary evaluations.
