Amazon Slashes Price on Powerful Security Camera Under €20

April 26, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

Amazon slashes price of indoor security camera to under €20, sparking surge in consumer interest Amazon has reduced the price of its Blink Mini indoor security camera to €19.99, marking a significant discount from its usual retail price of around €39.99. The move, confirmed through Amazon France’s product listing and verified via price-tracking tools, places the device below the psychological €20 threshold for the first time since its 2019 launch. The Blink Mini, a compact 1080p Wi-Fi-enabled camera with night vision, two-way audio and motion detection, has long been positioned as an entry-level option in Amazon’s smart home ecosystem. It requires no hub and connects directly to a home Wi-Fi network, storing footage either locally via USB or through a Blink Subscription plan offering cloud storage. According to Amazon’s internal sales data shared with Frandroid, the price cut triggered a 300% increase in units sold within 48 hours of the promotion going live in France. Similar spikes were observed in Germany and Spain, where the camera was also discounted to €19.99 and £17.99 respectively. Industry analysts note the timing coincides with Amazon’s broader strategy to expand adoption of its Ring and Blink product lines ahead of the European summer holiday season, when demand for home monitoring devices typically rises. Still, Amazon has not disclosed whether the discount is part of a limited-time campaign or a permanent price adjustment. Privacy advocates have raised concerns about data handling practices associated with Blink devices, particularly regarding video storage and third-party access. In 2022, the German Federal Commissioner for Data Protection issued a warning about potential vulnerabilities in Blink’s cloud infrastructure, though Amazon stated at the time that no breaches had occurred and that security patches were deployed promptly. Amazon France’s customer service team confirmed the promotion is active across all French regional sites but declined to comment on inventory levels or duration. The Blink Mini remains listed as “in stock” with estimated delivery times of one to two business days. As of publication, no official statement has been issued by Amazon regarding future pricing for the Blink Mini line, and the company has not responded to inquiries about whether similar discounts will apply to outdoor models such as the Blink Outdoor or Blink Wired. The promotion continues to drive traffic to Amazon’s smart home category, where the Blink Mini now ranks among the top three best-selling security cameras in France.
