Amazon Announces New Echo Devices, Smart Displays, and Alexa Features

Amazon has expanded its hardware lineup with eight new products spanning smart displays, smart speakers, and ecosystem accessories, TechRadar reported. The latest hardware release includes a redesigned Echo Dot, an integrated Echo Studio, a bedroom-focused smart speaker, and an updated 16-inch smart display.

Echo Dot Redesigned With Custom Audio and Wi-Fi Extension

The updated Echo Dot features a new custom full-range driver engineered to deliver 50 percent more bass. Amazon added a fourth microphone to improve voice pickup alongside a room temperature sensor.

Powered by the custom AZ3 audio processor designed to speed up Alexa responses, the device also doubles as an Eero Wi-Fi extender and a smart home hub. Color options include Graphite, Glacier White, Agave Green, and Coral Pink.

A dedicated kids’ version of the hardware comes shaped like an octopus or a penguin. It includes a one-year subscription to Amazon Kids+, which features curated audiobooks and podcasts.

Echo Studio Adds Advanced Calibration and Built-In Camera

The high-end Echo Studio received Advanced Room Adaptation to calibrate sound profiles dynamically, alongside an Adaptive Volume feature that adjusts audio levels as users move around a room.

Amazon integrated a physical camera into the chassis. The sensor allows users to check on pets or confirm whether household lights remain switched off. The camera integrates with Fire TV devices for television-based video calls and works with Alexa features to identify objects held in front of the lens. The camera includes a manual shut-off switch. The updated speaker is available in Graphite.

Time Lineup Introduces Bedroom Speaker with Clock

The new Echo Time lineup introduces a dedicated bedroom smart speaker equipped with a 3.2-inch touchscreen and a front-facing clock display. The hardware includes alarm routines synchronized with sleep cycles and wind-down settings.

Amazon omitted a camera from the Echo Time design. A children’s variant of the device, available in Galactic Grape and Cosmic Lime, includes a one-year subscription to Amazon Kids+.

Show 16 Features Larger Screen and Fire TV

Echo Show 16 arrives with a 16-inch touchscreen, a refined chassis, and integrated Fire TV capabilities. Amazon added three configurable widget layouts focused on smart home controls, photo displays, and family organization.

A 13-megapixel camera supports video calling and home monitoring. Amazon offers the device with standard glass or an optional anti-glare Nanomatte coating. Pre-orders are open, with shipments scheduled later this year.

Alexa Home Map and Photo Frame Expand Software Ecosystem

Complementing the hardware updates, Amazon introduced Alexa Home Map, a 3D interface for managing connected lights, speakers, and cameras through a phone app. The rollout is scheduled for later this year.

The Alexa Photo Frame utilizes device intelligence to curate and display images from Amazon Photos on a 10-inch touchscreen framed in genuine birch or walnut wood.
