Amanda Tapping Cancels Comic Con Prague 2026 Appearance | Stargate News

February 10, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

Amanda Tapping, known for her role as Samantha Carter in the Stargate franchise, will no longer be attending Comic-Con Prague 2026. The announcement, made by both the actress and event organizers, comes after Tapping secured a directing position that will occupy her schedule through mid-June.

Tapping revealed in a video posted to Facebook that she has accepted a role as Producing Director on the third season of the series Murder in a Modest Town, preventing her from traveling to Prague. Event organizers initially announced Tapping as the first confirmed guest for the convention, and sales of autograph and photoshoot tickets were briefly offered before being paused due to uncertainty surrounding her availability.

“We are very happy that we will be able to welcome Amanda Tapping to Prague,” said Pavel Renčín, Marketing Director of Active Radio, the event’s main organizer, when Tapping’s initial appearance was announced in November 2025, according to the Prague Reporter. Although, organizers now indicate that Tapping’s ongoing commitments may preclude her participation in the 2027 edition of Comic-Con Prague as well.

In response, Comic-Con Prague is reportedly considering featuring Tapping at a smaller event in Brno, Czech Republic. Organizers have also stated they are working to secure additional guests for the Prague convention, which is scheduled to take place from March 13 to 15, 2026, at the O2 Universum.

Despite the cancellation, Comic-Con Prague still boasts a lineup including Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian, Breaking Disappointing), Billy Boyd (The Lord of the Rings), Rick Cosnett (The Flash), Iain Glen (Game of Thrones), Michael Winslow (Police Academy), and David Anders (Heroes). The event, now in its seventh year, features attractions centered around video and board games, film and television, anime and comics, books, and cosplay.

Tickets for Comic-Con Prague are currently available for purchase at a discounted rate until November 3, 2025, according to o2universum.cz.
