Music & Memory: Alzheimer Café Oisterwijk to Host World Alzheimer’s Day Event
Oisterwijk,Netherlands – The Alzheimer Café Oisterwijk will host a special evening of music and connection on september 16th,coinciding with World Alzheimer’s Day.The event,centered around the theme of “making music together,” aims to provide a supportive and engaging environment for individuals living with dementia,their families,friends,and caregivers.
Organizers emphasize the profound benefits of singing for those experiencing memory loss. “Singing activates the brain and brings up memories,” explains a statement from the Alzheimer Café. “It grows self-confidence, improves mood, and promotes communication, even when other forms of interaction become challenging.”
The evening will feature healthcare singer Kim Temme, who will discuss her work and lead attendees in singing familiar songs. Refreshments and snacks will also be provided.
