The ASL TO3 is revitalizing its “Olympic Mountains” project, a crucial initiative aimed at bolstering healthcare services in the Alta Valsusa region during peak tourist seasons. This project specifically targets the Susa and Chisone valleys, encompassing six municipalities within the Olympic Municipalities Way Milky and the Alta Valsusa municipalities of Bardonecchia, Oulx, and Salbertrand, along with the upper Valsangone tourist area.
Beginning Tuesday, July 22, enhanced services and a modified continuity assistance structure, formerly known as the medical guard, will be implemented. The service can be accessed via the toll-free number 116117. Operations are strategically distributed across the Chisone and Susa valleys, with a central hub in Oulx and five territorial offices located in bardonecchia, cesana Torinese, Pragelato, Sauze d’Oulx, and Sestriere.
The project employs two distinct organizational models, with varying hourly coverage tailored to periods of high tourist influx. “Green days” are designated for moderate tourist presence, while “red days” anticipate exceptional tourist turnout, necessitating further service strengthening. For patients unable to travel, home visits are available.
Giovanni La Valle, the General Manager of ASL TO3, emphasized the project’s adaptive nature. “Every year the project is monitored on the basis of different parameters, such as use, type of patient, appropriateness, and remodeled in the following edition, to respond better to the needs of the territory and citizens, whether of those who frequent it temporarily as a tourist or as a worker, and to those who reside there, giving us the way we do our part in the tourist reception system,” he stated.
The service is complimentary for resident citizens or those registered with ASL TO3 general practitioners. For other individuals, outpatient visits incur a fee of 25 euros, and home visits are priced at 50 euros. In cases of emergency, the number 112 should be contacted. General practitioners can also be reached during their clinic hours, with the same rates and procedures as the tourist medical guard service.
