Broadcaster Alex Delgado Expresses Faith and Optimism Amidst Wife’s Cancer Recurrence
Puerto rican television personality Alex Delgado is leaning on his faith as his wife,Ferdinand Pérez, faces a recurrence of cancer, this time manifesting as a brain tumor. The news comes just over two years after Pérez celebrated remission from neck cancer.
Delgado, co-host of the popular program “Jugando Pelota Dura,” shared that Pérez underwent immediate surgery and is currently recovering before beginning further treatment. While acknowledging the aggressive nature of the cancer, Delgado emphasized his wife’s remarkably positive outlook this time around. “This time I noticed it was more positive. He told me: ‘I want to do it like you do it and not live like the other time I was depressed,'” Delgado revealed.
The couple’s current focus is on prioritizing Pérez’s health and exploring all available medical options, including seeking a second opinion, potentially in Tampa. Delgado expressed their shared hope for guidance and open doors during this challenging period. “For us, God is guiding us and sometimes the future seems a little uncertain and the only thing that holds us in the hand of God. What we want is for God to guide our steps and the doors to be opened for us to listen to that second (medical) opinion, since if we are going through this process it is for His glory. Whatever God says, we are going there,” Delgado’s wife stated.
Pérez previously paused all work commitments during his initial battle with cancer and is again stepping away from professional obligations to concentrate on recovery. Delgado noted that Pérez appears more optimistic and calm than during his previous diagnosis, a shift he attributes to a strengthened faith.
