GALLOWAY, N.J. – Albright College field hockey suffered a 5-0 defeat on teh road against Stockton University on saturday morning. The loss drops the Lions to 1-7 on the season.
This contest marked the first road game for Albright in 10 days and the beginning of a two-game stretch against New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opponents. The result highlights the challenges facing the young Albright program as it navigates a competitive schedule, with the team seeking to build momentum against strong regional competition.
Stockton established control early, scoring the lone goal of the first period.Albright’s offence generated three shots in the second, with bobbie Van Oordt registering two attempts – one on target and one blocked. Charissa Yerger also contributed a shot that narrowly missed the cage.
Mackenzie Bunn,Albright’s goalkeeper,delivered a standout performance,recording a career-high 12 saves. It was the second game this season where Bunn reached double-digit saves.
The Lions will continue their NJAC road trip next week, traveling to face nationally ranked The College of New Jersey on Wednesday, October 1, at 4:00 p.m.
