Alamo Colleges District Expands Capacity with New Rogers Run Campus
The alamo Colleges District is significantly expanding its footprint with the acquisition of a 198,000-square-foot office complex located at 10000 rogers Run, a short distance from Northwest Vista College. This marks the first major property acquisition in the collegeS 30-year history and is funded through the $987 million bond approved by voters in May 2025 – the largest in the district’s history.
The 14.5-acre Westover Hills property, which includes a building and parking garage, is strategically positioned within a growing innovation corridor alongside companies like Frost Bank, the Texas Cryptology Centre, Microsoft, Valero, and a future Amazon Web Services (AWS) site.
Northwest vista College, serving over 22,000 learners, will renovate the complex to accommodate new and expanding programs focused on high-demand career fields. Renovations are slated for completion by Fall 2027 and will initially house the newly approved Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cloud Computing, alongside other related technology programs.
Beyond Northwest vista College programs, the Rogers Run campus will serve as a key hub for alamoonline, increasing access to flexible online learning options. Programs from San Antonio College, including vital healthcare training like nursing and EMT certification, will also be offered at the location, extending these crucial services to the Far West San Antonio community.
“This investment is about creating access to the opportunities that drive economic mobility, and ensuring our learners are ready to lead in the industries of tomorrow,” stated Alamo Colleges District Chancellor Dr.Mike Flores. “It’s a bold step forward in our commitment to partnering to end poverty through education and training.”
The district anticipates enrollment reaching over 100,000 learners by 2030, and the Rogers Run complex is expected to play a vital role in accommodating this growth and supporting workforce growth across key sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, engineering, and emerging technologies, alongside other facilities planned for Port San Antonio, Brooks, and the South Texas Medical Center.
