March 22, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

Saudi Arabian club Al-Khaleed officially announced the signing of Guinean midfielder Sidouba Sissoko from Spanish side Leganés on Sunday, March 22, 2026. The deal, a three-year contract, marks the first major acquisition for Al-Khaleed ahead of the 2026-2027 season.

The announcement, made via Al-Khaleed’s official account on the platform ‘X’, signals the club’s ambition to strengthen its squad. Owned by the American Harbor Group company, Al-Khaleed is proactively preparing for the upcoming season, according to reports. The move comes as the club seeks to build on a historic season that saw them reach the final of the King’s Cup for the first time in their history, defeating Al-Ittihad 5-4 on penalties in the semi-final.

Currently positioned 14th in the Saudi Professional League table with 25 points, Al-Khaleed aims to improve its standing in the league. The acquisition of Sissoko is intended to bolster the team’s midfield and contribute to a stronger performance in the coming season. The club’s management views the addition of “distinguished elements” as crucial for maintaining a strong presence in the league, according to statements released alongside the signing.

News of the signing has been reported by multiple Saudi news outlets, including Al-Khaleej, Akhbaar24 and nabd.com, all confirming the three-year duration of the contract. MSN also reported on the deal, highlighting Al-Khaleed’s position in the Roshn Saudi League.
