Al-Haram Hospital: Minister Terminates Cleaning & Security Contracts

Minister of Health Orders Immediate Improvements at al-Haram Hospital

During a surprise ⁢visit to Al-Haram Specialist hospital⁣ in Giza Governorate, Minister of Health and population Dr. ​Khaled Abdel Ghaffar identified critical areas needing immediate attention and⁢ issued directives for rapid advancement.The visit was ⁢part of the ⁣ministry’s ongoing efforts to monitor health facilities and ensure quality service delivery to citizens.

Dr. Abdel‍ Ghaffar expressed meaningful⁣ concern over hygiene standards within the hospital, ‍leading to the immediate ⁣termination of the contract ​with the⁤ current cleaning service provider. He also cancelled the contract with the security company responsible for access control, citing observed deficiencies in performance that resulted in disorganized entry procedures.

The Minister observed overcrowding in​ the reception⁢ and ‌emergency department ⁣and instructed officials⁣ to urgently reorganize the space to improve patient flow and provide‍ adequate waiting areas. ⁢He also noted high occupancy rates – 70% in internal departments and 100%‍ in intensive care – and directed an increase in medical staff and ⁣expansion of available ⁣specialties to address patient needs.

To accelerate ‍improvements, Dr.Abdel Ghaffar convened a meeting with his assistants,‌ the ⁢head of the treatment medicine ⁢sector, and the head of the secretariat of‍ specialized medical centers. The focus‍ of the meeting⁢ was to establish a firm timeline for completing ongoing progress work and enhancing overall hospital efficiency. ⁣

Dr. Abdel Ghaffar emphasized the importance of proactive maintenance ​for all medical‌ and non-medical equipment, coupled with consistent monitoring to⁤ guarantee uninterrupted, high-quality service. He affirmed⁣ the ministry’s zero-tolerance policy for any shortcomings that compromise the health and safety‍ of Egyptian citizens, and announced ​that⁤ unannounced inspections will continue across the country to maintain discipline and ensure citizens ⁢receive appropriate healthcare.
