AJ Styles at WWE Performance Center: Future Plans & Raw Tribute Update

by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

AJ Styles visited the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday, according to a report from PWInsider Elite, fueling speculation about the future of the veteran wrestler following a career-threatening match at the Royal Rumble.

Styles’ visit comes after he lost to GUNTHER at the Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a match stipulated to be his last if he failed to win. Following the defeat, WWE Chief Operating Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque indicated Styles’ in-ring career was likely over. However, Styles’ actions immediately after the match—initially appearing to exit his gloves in the ring before retrieving them and posing—sparked debate among fans about a potential retirement reversal.

The possibility of Styles continuing his career has been further amplified by the recently established partnership between WWE and TNA, which began in January 2025. Styles himself has acknowledged the possibility of returning to TNA, stating in an interview on Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Your Story?” podcast that he wouldn’t rule out any options and noting that wrestlers are permitted to come out of retirement “at least once.”

Adding to the intrigue, WWE announced on Monday that next week’s edition of “WWE Raw,” live from Atlanta, Georgia, will feature a tribute to Styles in his home state. While the initial announcement did not confirm whether Styles would appear on the show, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer reported that talent from “WWE SmackDown” will be flown in to participate in the tribute.

On the February 17th edition of WWE NXT, Myles Borne attacked Ethan Page and demanded a North American Title Match. Elsewhere in NXT, Ricky Saints threw out a challenge for Joe Hendry, and Lola Vice and Kelani Jordan clashed in a dramatic bout. On Raw, Je’Von Evans qualified for the Elimination Chamber, and CM Punk issued a statement regarding The Judgment Day and Finn Bálor.
